The Book of Thoth remains at large. The Egyptian God Horus (center symbol) had two sons, Ra (left eye) and Thoth (right eye). In The Fool’s Errand, the High Priestess commanded the Eye of Ra, not the Eye of Thoth. This calls into question whether the High Priestess commanded the Book of Thoth at all. Tourgée's novel, originally published in anonymously as A Fool's Errand, By One of the Fools, is not strictly autobiographical, though it draws on Tourgée's own experiences in the South. In the story Comfort Servosse, a Northerner of French ancestry, moves to a Southern state for his health and in the hope of making his fortune.5/5(1).

“Fool’s Errand is a hidden history of America’s forgotten war, laid bare in damning detail. Scott Horton masterfully retells the story of America’s failed intervention, exposes how Obama’s troop surge did not bring Afghanistan any closer to peace, and warns that the conflict could go on in perpetuity — unless America ends the war.

Oct 15, · Fool’s Errand is the first book in the Tawny Man trilogy—the third out of five subseries within Hobb’s The Realm of the Elderlings gigantic series—and it is my favorite installment within the entire RotE so far. This is seriously a lovely, memorable, and poignant return to the world of Fitz, Nighteyes, and the Fool’s journey.
This book is dedicated to my colleagues at the National Museum of African American History and Culture and to the staff of the Smithsonian Institution, both of whose commitment to excellence, to service, to scholarship, and to the American public is often unnoticed but greatly appreciated by me.
